la mision beach by the rivermouth

this past saturday morning whilst heading for ensenada we saw these guys towing in. one of the guys was going faster than i thought was possible on a board.

we watched for a few and then proceeded to the fish market and bought 2kilos of clams, 1 kilo os scallops, and 3 kilos seabass. $15 u.s. total!!! four fish tacos from the corner stand $4 w/ $1 tip and we were headed to san miguel.

it was sunny all day with 6-10' faces. crowd was 10-15 guys.

a great way to celebrate turning 41 with my son and best friend.

border was about 45 minutes around dark....

Very cool shots. Sounds like you guys scored on the waves AND the seafood. Happy Birthday.

I`ve seen them a few times and the first time about blew me away. It was too late to turn off so I just saw the one wave and like you had never seen that speed. Thought about it and figured maybe the guy was still being towed as the ski was inside. I`m thinking these guys are local and launch from the beach, but I have seen crews launch from La Salina to surf Salsipuedes.
I checked out the fish market on Wed., and was amazed by the horrible quality of the fish. Brown mushy tuna, small old looking corvina, smelly yellowtail, about the only good thing was shark. The shrimp and clams looked good though. And the shrimp tacos were GREAT!!
Beautiful day to drive down (Wed.) , huge waves putting on a show, mariachi bands playing for the cruise ship crowd and aN-zing sights of the burn areas near Baja Mar.

Wow. Those tow-in shots are amazing.

What a great start of the year for surf. I just checked the long range forecast and we are going to have continued head-high+ surf for the next 10 days.
