Ensenada de Los Muertos

Does anyone know the accommodations in this pueblo?
Would like to spend a week there. Any recommendations for fishing, eating, and of course drinking fine tequila and Pacifico?
Maybe an area close to there? Date: 4/21 to 4/28 2006
I would like a house for three older men (and we are not worn out yet:lol:) 2-3 days panga fishing? Maybe in the $800- $1200 range? I'll spend whats necessary.
Gracias,
Al G
Edit:
Should this be in the fishing board?

Ensenada de los Muertos... It doesn't exist any more. It was renamed Bah?a de Los Sue?os and now they are constructing million dollar homes there. When was the last time you visited the area? There are tons of changes underway. You cannot invision it if you've been away for a few years. The plan calls for 600 upscale homes, a resort with golf course, and two marinas.

Yeah the times are a changin quick down there. One thing you might do is locate in La Vantana and drive back and forth to the bay. Was there a few Aprils ago and it was beautiful with great fishing!

Thanks, Bob and Bornfisher
Just looking for a fishing hole between La Paz and Los Barriles with nice accommodations.
My map must be old, but just got it.
Any hotels in La Ventana or another fishing hole?

Hey Al-- I just Googled "la ventana baja" and got this--

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=la+ventana+baja&...

As I remember, it was about a half hour from Muertos to La Ventana, with an ice factory in between, where for 20 pesos you could buy an iceberg!!

How about El Cardonal

Lots of fishing between El Cardonal and Boca del Alamo. You can stay at 'Crazy Eddy's' place, The El Cardonal Hideway http://www.elcardonal.net/.

Ensenada of the Dead doesn't have much in the way of appeal, of course, but this doesn't mean that the name can be changed just because somebody doesn't like it. The developers have the right to apply a dreamy name to their place, but not to alter the name of the bay.

I heard somewhere that the Mexican government was supporting the change of the name also. Maybe that was just a rumor started by the developers. Dunnoh:O

There is a fly-in fishing resort north of Los Barriles. It's at Punta Pescadero. There is a hotel there but I don't know anything about it other than just seeing it as I drove by.

Try this link if Jonanthan cant help you no one can
http://www.tailhunter-international.com/home/home.html

Right now in the winter the panga fleet is at Muertos bay because of the wind.
There is some developing going on there but you can still drive up and on to the beach to camp. There is a Restaurant there or it was two years ago.
there is a paved airstrip nearby. Ive seen private jets landing there.

There is another place that I have seen called Los Cruces which is directly east of LaPaz. It is an exclusive resort that I understand was owned by the President of Mexico at one time, and Bing Crosby at some other time. I don't know much about it except that it's there. We paddled our kayaks down past it and noticed a boat landing with a big support for hanging large fish on it. It may not be open to the public, but then again it may.

There is a Giggling Marlin there now.

I just saw a really slick brochure for the new development and I doubt that any of us will be able to afford a lot there.

Lera, I agree, of all the nerve. What is wrong with bay of the dead? Dont these people have any sense of humor?:(
