Unless you do some digging in that link, it refers to the club only.
What I know (please update any wrong info for others):
'Tierra del Sol' is an area between Borrego Springs and the Salton Sea that has been a popular annual event for years... Basically, four wheeling
through desert badlands in Jeeps. Good clean fun where you get dirty!

Tierra Del Sol asks that people who show up, pay the registration money to help support four wheeler's fight against land closures. Not free, but $35
or so is cheaper than a tank of gas...
If you check out their Eventspage, you will see that they travel to Baja quite frequently...

TDS
We went on the TDS Safari waaaay back in the early 70s - probably 1971 through '74 or '75. What was considered a tough run by the standards of
fourwheeling then wouldn't compare to today's hardcore runs - but they were fun considering the machines we all drove.
This event in those years was most enjoyable, a bit noisy, a few crazies, but good jeepin! They always had a super raffle - several sets of tires,
winches and tons of great 4x4 stuff. We still have the fancy TDS registration programs from those early days. (early for us anyway)
We went once again back in about 1985 - it was just huge compared to our earlier trips. And today - it must be quadrupled in size from what we
remember.
The TDS organization is first class. I'm certain that is one standard not diminished by the years.
I believe they have runs that vary in difficulty from the Ken Cooke extremo stuff to the family 4x4 type trails. Just be prepared to have a good time.

You only need to pay if you go on the organized runs......otherwise it is all open....or you can give surfer jim $20 and just go drive around....
(that will pay for my next BAJA trip....and mordida)
I will be testing my truck...and this time can air down tires to see benefits....

Here's a few images from the club webpage...
Surfer Jim - just pay the registration dollars, and attend an SUV/Pickup truck run with the club. If you get stuck, there'll be plenty of folks who
can strap your rig and pull you out. If you air your tires down, there will be folks who will air you back up again.
Take it from me, when you 'wheel with a large, organized group, you will learn so much more about 4 wheeling that when you find yourself back in Baja,
you'll know what your limits are and will feel more comfortable when you're in those boundaries.
