Collection of mariscos restaurants N. of Halfway House?
There is a collection of rather run down looking mariscos restaurants that are a few hundred yards north of the Halfway House along the free road. Has
anybody ever eaten seafood at any of these? Any recommendations?
There just has to be a better alternative to the prices at PN or La Fonda when I comes to lobster. We had lobster at LF this past weekend and they
were VERY good sized (three halves) but it was 32.00. It was delicious; al vapor.
Where can a thrify gringo get a good deal on prepared lobster between TJ and Ensenada (inclusive of those two cities)?

I have guests that eat in that little village
all the time. They say it is great and a great price. I don't know which one they go to though. I'll ask around and see if I can get an answer for
you,k

Lobster at the Half Way House... not as expensive as La Fonda and 100 times better prepaired... Al vapor con ajo (cooked to prefection, light and
tender)...

Best Mariscos
I don't have a story about the fishing village, but Mariscos Alegria in Primo Tapia (Cantamar for the gringos) is the best. It is on the old road
between the old road and the tollroad. It is south of the Pemex and Police station and just north of the pedestrian overpass and the sand dunes.
Stuck away near a window shop and some other shops.
Unbeleiveable fish tacos that require at least two hands to eat.

Mariscos Alegria
We 2nd that emotion. Yesterday we stopped there and had the shrimp a la mantequilla con maize and the pescado empanizada con harina. Huge
portions,made to order. D lish.
The cocteles there are good too. Right across the street is Dra. Avila our dentist.
Fishing village
We have tried several. The one we favor is right on the north side of the bay right next to the road. We have not had lobster there but the ceviche is
tasty. Will try to get the name next time.
In Puerto Nuevo we go to Rosamar for the camarones relle?o. It's the best in Baja.
We only like lobster served sashimi style and we get it in San Diego first Wednesday in October to March 15th. Sushi Ota. Muy fresca.

Actually,the village is south
and it is called Campito.
We hear that they want to be a new "Puerto Nuevo" , but don't know anything about what is good or where to go.

Mariscos Alegria in Primotapia
I second the Gull's recommendation.
Fresh seafood - great two-handed fish tacos, and very good seviche and I order raw oysters on the half shell without a problem.
