Before the pavement on Hwy 1 the locals would construct "curios" and leave them beside the road for our admiration. But this looks like someone had an extension hoist or ladder and a lot of time on his/her hands. In the old days it was somewhat comforting to round a dirt turn at 10 MPH and encounter a curio; it meant you were somewhere civiilization. Perhaps that old thought is why the Mexican community has trouble getting rid of litter???
