carmelita's van is history!

stopped in for a dose of tamales yesterday and to my suprise, the van wasn't there. filled up the tank at jesus maria (didn't have gas to make el rosario) and then noticed, to the south of the station was a new casita and the "new" carmelita's.

went in and sat down and the little old lady seemed like the happiest person alive! she said she'd been in the new digs about 7 months. seems her patrons were complaining about the dust blowing thru while they tried to eat. she said it "only"" took 17 years for her to upgrade.

still, the best tamales - EVER!!!
