Laguna Salada - Hwy 2 past Guadalupe, Cohabuzo to Ejido Saldana 4/3


Our group covered this entire section of terrain in our well-prepared 4WD Jeeps and pickup trucks. We had no issues with the mud although there was some moisture about 1"-2" below the surface of the salt flats, causing just a little concern. My Jeep sunk maybe 2" as I crossed the Laguna Salada just past the olive plantation on our way to Cohabuzo Junction.

Once we crossed the Canyon Jaquegel at the end of our run, the dirt was moist, but not wet. 2WD as more than adequate throughout our journey although there was evidence that water had rushed down the aluvial fan to rest at the center of the Laguna Salada. Things should become much dustier in the coming weeks...
