Any idea on how I might contact them to see if I would have a place to crash if I come by this Saturday??

Thank you.

Roman (one of Alfonsina's sons) was at Baja Cactus in El Rosario Sat. night visiting with Antonio (fellow Pemex station owner)... on his way to Gonzaga Bay to perform the demanded upgrades by Pemex so the station could remain open during Easter week. Very nice person!

Ruben...

Roman (Alfonsina?s son) just came back from Gonzaga... he told me they are full for next weekend.

He recommended you call "Rancho Grande"... they may have space.

Reservations

Much has been related here over the months regarding the difficulty of getting reservations for the motel rooms at Alfonsinas. This a.m. , while visiting with a close friend and former resident of Alfonsinas, I mentioned that a recurring theme seems to be that callers are told that the motel is full for that date even though rooms turn out to be available. My friend said that the answer was simple. They try to avoid making reservations because they have no trouble keeping the rooms full. A downside to a reservation is that the person MAY not show up and the motel ends up with an empty room for that date. Another problem stated with reservations was that someone may show up with cash and get the room resulting in the person who made the reservation not having a place to stay. I have run into the same problem when making reservations (in person) for friends at Campgrounds in San Felipe. They smile and say OK, but then rent the space out if someone else shows up first.

Cash in the hand is worth a whole lot more than that promised over the phone.

Actually, the situation at Alfonsina's is a little different. When you show up, reservations or not, cash in hand, etc., the word is "there are no rooms available".

You stick around, yackity yack, and rooms magically appear. This is consistent.

You are so right Roberto! This has happened to us 3 times now! First Antonio says no , no rooms, then we say "Oh No" then we say well guess we will just have to go on to San Felipe. He then says "WAIT" let me check! He checks and we have rooms immediately! So we stay & everyone is happy! Lol Lol!
