Drugs and Death in Todos Santos

During the Arts Festival the kids were doing drugs and some of them died on the streets from overdoses and no one did anything even though people were around watching them die. I have to admit even I did nothing to help- but I did take some pictures.

And here is a photo of two of the kids that died from the overdose. You can see the one kid is still clutching his plastic bag.

I guess the town was so glad to be rid of this street vermin that they started applauding and it was so loud that it woke the dead and I asked the cast to gather for one last photo and here it is.

A very moving play about the troubled lives of street kids isn't exactly what I expected to see at an arts festival but that is what they did. If anyone knows these kids let them know that I have photos of them as I think they would like to have copies.

Cardon, that was a terrifying post, and I'm so glad to see that it was a play. Looks like some good acting!

Art isn't always pretty, and shouldn't always be, and theater is so good for bringing serious issues to where we feel them.
