Calliope Hummingbird Nest

I discovered a hummingbird nest in the branches of my butterfly bush last month. This hummer normally mates and nests in the mountains of Mexico. What a great surprise it was to have this happen right in my front yard.

If you'd like to see photos of the nest:

tehag - de nada... y gracias

SoCalAl - Camera is a Canon D20; photographer is mi esposo. My role was that of 'mother hen', each day at my window watching over that nest. Oh yeah, I also cropped the photos. ;)

Muchas gracias for the compliments, amigos. It's easy to see why I had so much fun watching them grow, isn't it.

Wonderful pictures, Natalie!! They look downright professional. I especially like the one of the bird in flight.
