Are you pitting a German truck against the Japanese Bruce??

Remember Dodge and Jeep are manufactured by a German company--

Headquartered in Europe and valued in Euros - sounds like German to me.

Of course Toyota Tacomas have always been manufactured in Calif.

???????????????????????????

American autos?

The serial number of the vehicle will have the country of final assembly coded into it. If the serial number starts with a '1' or '4', its final assembly was in the USA. If it starts with a '2', Canada; a '3', Mexico; a 'J', Japan; 'K' for Korea and other letters or numbers for other countries.

Chrysler produces 30% of its vehicles content in the USA,
50% for Ford,
70% for GM.
The Dodge Dakota is 80% American content.

A few of the US owned makes listed are Saturn, Ford, Vector, Lamborghini.

Some foreign owned are Mercedes, Toyota, Honda, Volkswagen. Chrysler (Daimler-Chrysler) is now German owned.

It appears there are no makes of cars that are 100% American made.

Some research finds the closest in the last few years is 2001 Oldsmobile Intrigue GLS Sedan and the 2001 Pontiac Widetrack Grand Prix GT Sedan...

.....made by USA owned Oldsmobile/General Motors and USA owned Pontiac/General Motors, both assembled in Kansas City, Kansas, USA, with a USA engine, USA transmission, with 96% US/Canadian parts content.

The Grand Prix SE Sedan has a Mexican engine.

Think American/German/Jananese/Mexican/ect/etc!!

They're all mutants

Show me a new vehicle, and I don't care where it was assembled. It will have many parts made in other countries.

NO?

How else can a car corp compete globally. I think my u-joint was made in Mongolia.

Please leave jeeps outta this, it's not their fault. Blame AMC.
