Viva Baja in Santa Rosalia
This restaurant, under new management, is on the south end of the Malecon in Santa Rosalia and features some really great food.
The cook, Luci, is the former cook at Playas Negras and she does know how to prepare and present a meal. She also sings a mean song!
The owner of this restaurant is the same gent that owns Ricardos at the hotel on Punta Chivato and he has done a fine job.
You gotta try their chile rellenos. Absolutely perfect!

The lunch order of chicken tostadas is a great deal and very refreshing in the heat. Also had the mex combo (yep, those rellenos are good!), pescado
al mojo de ajo and the ceviche plate. All very good. Noting was over 6.00 us; the tostadas were 4.00 as I recall.
View not as good as Playas and the ceviche plate not as large. But they have their own "proprietary" salsa that is really good and hot.
We were there during the Mexico/Angola soccer game and the one airconditioned area was taken over by the guys from the mining interest in town (or the
island) , judging by all their trucks. No room for us. The rest of the place is too hot to eat in. The outside tables can be comfortable IF the breeze
is moving. If not, whew! We toughed it out.
The beers are about as cold as a beer can be and not have ice forming in them.
And Hugo's service is VERY attentive.......
Overall, I'd give it 3.5 tenedores but we really didnt test them much. Next time.

I'm glad to hear that Ricardo is doing well in Santa Rosalia. The past three owners there couldn't make it. He abandoned us in Pt. Chivato after we
rased a lot of pesos to get him going. I think he would like to sell his interest here and there may be someone interested. Pt. Chivato is a hard
place to make it work and going into town for supplies over our infamos road and using a generator for power doesn't help. Not to mention that from
now untill October there just aren't enough people to stay open. I eat in his place in S.R. right after he opened and I really enjoyed the tostadas. I
gues I should go try it again. The AC room sounds very cool!
