this forum needs an RV section - but anyway - my Q:

I have a Eu2000i and it wil NOT handle a rooftop RV AC. It runs a lot of things very well and I'm very happy with it, but no AC.

I think you need a 3500 to run most RV air conditioners.
I use a Honda 5.5hp, Coleman 3500 that has a 30 amp 120v outlet.
Without the 30amp 120v outlet, your A/C will choke and strain the generator.

You are going to have to get more information than "roof top style". Like, what's the draw (watts or amps). There ARE units the Honda EU2000 will run.

I to have run a RV air conditioner on a 3500 gen set and it worked pretty good but you could not run anything else that is very large at the same
time.

thx Roberto - yur right of course, i don't have the specs here in phx as the unit's in mulege at my palpapa. if i could look it up i could rate the
amps etc.
the honda website states the unit will run "smaller airconditioners" without being specific. it further states you need to daisy chain 2 EU2000i units
in parallel for 4K watts and then it is good for most RV roof mount units.
but what prompted my Q was that i have heard some have run their RV AC with one model like mine.
i am going to take it south manana. might try it but am concerned about effing up the AC, burning it up - whatever. i'll check the specs 1st and see
if it mates to the gen output.
the thing is, mulege's power goes out all the time and i need AC!!

Likely it will not work alone.
As an alternative, a small 110 remote-vent unit will run on your generator. Most will run on 15 amps or less. (The kind for your house that has a hose
exhaust.)
With one of these units and your generator, you will have portable air-conditioning ! Take it to a friend's for dinner !?

For RV specific questions, you might want to try http://www.rv.net/
As to your present question, my coach has a 15.0 btu (living room) and an 11.0 btu (bedroom) A/C and only the bedroom A/C will run on a 2K genset (if
I turn everything else off). Luckily I have a 5.5 KW genset and it does the job.
