Pangas in Zihuatanejo

Since I cant get to baja in the near future, I do troll the internet about anything to do with fishing and pangas
There are about 5 or so fishing outfits in Zihuatanejo that advertize on the net and they all have pictures of the same type panga.

Does anyone out there in Nomad land know any details about these unique pangas??
web sites or the like??

Thanks

If you google it, a few good links will come up. I wonder if the place still looks like it did in"Shawshank Redemption."

I've fished on three.

They ride much like a Baja panga, but when fishing, the captain must stay at the wheel with the motor running to keep the stern pointed at a circling fish; you cannot move around the boat to follow the fish like you can on the Baja pangas.

Inside the enclosure there are benches running lengthwise, that are shady and one is long enough to stretch out on and nap. The other side bench may be shorter to accomodate a head (toilet) with a curtain.

One I was on had a good stereo. And some carry pretty good quality tackle, and most have outriggers.

Fishing style is a little different. Live bait is available, but for the sailfish the skippers buy dead bait too. The bait is sewn, then put on a sharpened hook (I never see the Loreto captains sharpen hooks) and sometimes a hoochie is placed over the bait. These baits are trolled on outriggers, sometimes along with a lure or two off the stern. The "one rod per angler" rule is not followed by the Zihua captains.

And Gitana seems to be the superstar panga there, I fished others, mostly with Arturo on Whiskey III.
