Partnership available
My wife and I rent a lot in San Nicolas between Mulege and Loreto in a date palm orchard in the arroyo. We never expect to own the land, and we
acknowledge that at any time we could have our sweat equity washed into the Sea of Cortez.
Our partner has recently decided, for several good reasons, that he won't be able to spend the time he had hoped, and has withdrawn from our split the
rent deal.
We have half an acre fenced in the orchard with, I think, about 45 mature palms. We share a well and 6 family water system, and contribute to it's
up-keep. We have a nice bathroom with a flush toilet and a big shower. There is a kitchen with a small propane fridge, a propane range, and the water
heater is propane. We have a simple washing machine which we run from a generator. There is no other electricty, no TV, and no telephones. The
nearest market is in Mulege, but it is quicker to shop in Loreto. (65 mi.) The dirt "driveway" is 18km.
This is glorified camping in a remote fishing village. Most everything was built with recycled materials, and we have a lot more heart invested than
money. We currently pay $200. for irrigation, and $1000. for rent, so half the rent is $600. a year.
We're interviewing folks who might want to share such a place. If you are prone to loud music, loud toys, drunkeness, or right wing politics, it
probably wouldn't work out.
We are usually on the property no more than six weeks a year; although we hope to increase that in the next few years.
Feel free to U2U me, and we can convert that to e-mail if it sounds like it might work. We have a lot of pictures.

That seems like good deal. You obviously can't wash away the trees and if it got through John, it sounds reasonably sound long term. But don't listen
to me!! Did it get much damage?

The reports we've had so far have been very positive. no damage was easily visible. We've had the little drive way from the gate to the house
"modified" a couple of times by hurricanes, but even when the water was a foot deep during Marty, it was moving so slowly that we just got silt, and
we were able to broom it out.
I'm sorry you took such a hit. I've had a bit of survivor's guilt.
We still have to finalize Cathy's schedule, but I'm hoping to be there from mid Oct. to Mid Nov. I have to make repairs to my skiff, but I sure would
like to get into some Yellows.

Yeah Mike, it's pretty sedate around our place. It's all about relaxation. BELIEVE me. ALL of my exclusions describe me perfectly in my past. I'm also being somewhat protective of MOST of my neighbors who would feels the same
way.
Enjoy Palapaville!

This is the post I've been waiting for ... for about 5 years. It'd be perfect to post that picture of you on the landing strip at PSF...
All in good fun...but very funny between us.
I'll save the world and NOT do that...but funny anyway...

Last night I found this section while searching for lodging / homes primarily in Loreto, La Paz and Cabo for the month of the Baja Mil coming up...
I just got back from 9-day final GPS mapping w/BFG/SCORE...gonna be a good one.
and then I found this thread!!! Good stuff....
Tours are fun but not really good on the pocket book...we're so busy with all the other stuff and then add DN on top of that and we're busy.
I'm off the entire month of Oct through November for the race...just prerunning and having fun.
