Puertocitos to Gonzaga bay

I have yet to explore much in the area north of BOLA to San Felipe as I usually was in a hurry to get to warmer waters. I have a few days off in mid Feb and would like to explore someplace new. I have heard some good things about the fishing between Puertocitos and Gonzaga Bay. Can anyone offer some info for this stretch? I'm looking for nice isolated camping spots (don't care much for crowds), good shore fishing and any info on the road. Are there some nice little fishing villiages where one could hire a local to go out on a boat for a few hours? Are there lots of places to camp near the water? I have a 4WD truck and actually know how to use it...:) Any info is much appreciated. Thanks!!!

I cant be specific

as to names of particular camps because I just use that road to get to Gonzaga, but there are an incredible number of gringo owned houses that can answer local specific questions after you arrive in the area. And there is one playa for camping that can be seen from the road, hardly ever has anyone staying there. You oughta be in hog heaven.

Use the "Search" button up top. Use Boolian search methods or simply type in Puertecitos. Then do it for Gonzaga. (You should also use Puertocitos since many misspell the place name.)

You'll have more to read than you want.

Check out Playa Escondida a giant sand cove in rock points just north of Puertecitos. You can camp on the beach under a palapa or stay in a rock castle, just depends on what you want. The Enchanted islands are off shore and south of Puertecitos. They run 2 boats out of Playa Escondida for offshore fishing or trips to the islands. We would be down farther but the road, and availability of items such as water and supplies convinced us to stop here. The fishing at the islands is unreal. There is more pricing info for Playa Escondida on my website
Bahia Christina is 4 miles south of Puertecitos, and has a great resturant on the beach, great food, clean, new clean bathrooms, full bar, etc. If it looks like there not open dont worry they will open for you. Past that I dont think theres much till gonzaga.

Have fun,
GTB

Thanks much to all who replied. Assuming the weather cooperates in mid February it should be a good exploratory trip for me. Looking forward to some fresh fish tacos again!
