Hi Kate,
I use these folks and I have no complaints:http://www.americas-mailbox.com/
I don't know about monitoring your mail on-line, but they are always quick to respond to my e-mails.
Also, I think you were one of my referrals to Hacienda Del Cortez for our doggy visit to La Paz. Thank you, that worked out very well. Having the
beach there for her to romp while we watched from the cantina was a bit o heaven.

Mail Boxes etc.
I've been pondering the same question-- a little farther down the road for me --- but you can currently have mail sent to a Mail Boxes etc. in San
Ysidro and they will package it and tranship it to their office in San Jose del Cabo. I'm thinking you can get the folks there to get a local
transport co. to get it to La Paz. Or do like me keep bugging the folks in San Jose to open another office in La Paz where you can pick up the mail
addressed to a US address in San Ysidro.
let me know how you do??

Kate:
I've been in La Paz for 7 years & I can tell you that historically, snail mail takes 3-4 weeks between here & the states....BOTH ways! There
was ONE freak occurance where I received something 5 days after it was sent, but that was a true fluke....even 2 weeks amazed me on rare occasions,
but 3-4 weeks is typical. It's a waste of $$ to use Priority Mail, but you do have to sign for it on this end, so it is tracked to some degree.
Priotity mail takes 3-4 weeks as well. I have all my mail going to my brother in Oregon & they forward things like ATM cards & other
important stuff that I need to get into my hot little hands. Cards are activated after they get to me. For me, time-critical things are very
infrequent , but I have used DHL on occasion...."Overnight" typically is a 3-4 day journey & for a letter type document it's around $20 USD.
Sorry, I have no experience with the mail forwarding services. But my experience with snail mail & DHL might give you some idea of whether or not
you could learn to adapt, or need to research other more timely methods. The last time I mailed anything from here to the states, it was about .85
cents equiv. USD for a 1-page letter & that was 3-4 years ago, it's probably up to $1 USD equivalent now! I think that's way too
spendy....especially for the slow service....the damn burro must have hourly siesta's written into his union contract!

my guy here in california put "igniter" on the customs slip instead of office supplies....

Regular mail doesn't sound like a viable option.
