Tourist Cards in Tecate?

Hey Nomads,

Does anyone know for sure if I can get tourist cards at the Tecate crossing? I have not been able to confirm that they are available there. We have always crossed back into the U.S. there but this will be the first time going into Mexico at that point. Anyone done this?

Just got mine there

A few of us got ours there last week. Go to "Migracion" office just as you cross, it's inside the building on the right. Once you have your forms filled in just go across the street to one of the bank outlets set up to handle customs fees & duties, pay your money and go back to "Migracion" for your final stamp.

We usually go to the Bar Diana a few blocks further south before heading out.

Thanks folks. Sounds less hectic then the TJ crossing. That will make things way easy for us.

:tumble:We leave in two weeks.

I can hardly wait.

Just the information we needed too. We're going to bypass the madness this year. Sixteen days and counting the hours.

Rick...when do you plan to cross, and how far are you heading?

Ranger Rich and I wil be crossing on the 14th of November. We are bringing (at least) two other friends along as far as BOLA, we are then planning to go on to Santa Rosalillita, Ignacio and finally Los Coco's, while our friends will be returning to the states.

Is there a declaration lane at Tecate? I am pulling a 16' toybox trailer with one small, new 20 gal hot water heater. Value is less than $200.00. Everything else is camping related and used.
