pristine beach of Bahia Asuncion

I took this on Sunday as we were out for our daily swim. This is the town beach and it goes all the way to Pta.Abreojos....We are taking full advantage of this El Niño condition that has warmed the water to toasty proportions....around 80 degrees. There is never a soul in the water as the locals think it's winter and don't usually swim anyway. The water is crystal clear with visibility about 100'!!! Thousands of shore birds are showing up on their southern migration and whales are starting to pass as well. We are experiencing wonderful weather with very little breeze and summer like temps. Too good to be true! Viva baja!

Donde es la isla?

Shari,

That looks like Pt. Asuncion with the town at the end of it. There should be an island of the point, however, and it's not there. Is that Pt. Asuncion or am I mistaken?

Asuncion Island is just where the picture cuts off to the left, it is out there with about 7,000 sea lions...our home is out at the tip of the point and the beach house we are finishing up is the first house on this long beach kind of in the right corner of the picture. The water is still unbelievably warm! There are pics of the downtown on the link below my name....
