Longing for Baja

Baja is where we would be right now, except my old knee required a tune-up this week---surgery is never fun. We would be south of the border if I was not sitting here with the vicodin in one hand and the ice bag on the knee.

Stuck and inmobile, I started sorting some of my Baja Pictures, and some just seemed to fit my mood

Temporarily stopped from heading down the highway

How my knee feels at the moment

The storm of the pain that attacks

Ah, the vicodin begins to settle in

Ah, the vicodin really does its thing

But I am not alone like this guy

My DH, my special friend does not leave my side.

So soon, we will be able to take in a special Baja vista

Or settle in for a week or two into one of our favorite towns

Forgive my sentimental ramblings, but we so wish we were in Baja---soon, we hope.

Diane

I didn't realize that Vicodin could produce such creative thoughts; I'll have to get some !
Thanks for the "memory lane". Hope you heal-up fast !

lots of us are sitting stateside wondering why. At least you can blame it on your knee, all I have to blame is ?stupidity?....

waddle::tumble: on down to that place of healing ASAP. I wish you luck.

the photos, the photos! ahhhhh, Baja!

I feel a little guilty for finding so much pleasure from your pain, Diane, but you've posted such lovely pictures and expressive captions!
I hope your knee heals quickly,

Paula

Heal well and soon. Do the exercises, even if you don't want to!

Wonderful pics. I hope you post more as you heal.

This is really an excellent photo essay, Diane - thank you so much for posting it! Keep poppin' those meds and thinking "South... warmth..... almost there". Best wishes for your recovery and one fun time in Baja California.

*Edited to change bouncing smiley to "yes".... bouncing is not good for newly repaired knees. ;D

Hey, it is the vicodin speaking again. Thanks for all the well wishes and nice comments--Thanks, Natalie Ann for changing from the bouncing smiley to the yes smiley---when I saw the bouncing one Cypress posted, I screamed and reached for the drugs.:spingrin::yes:

IFYFISH, are you reading my mind? Tomorrow I hear about the exercises and already I am saying, NO WAY---Ok, I'll do them. Capt. George---you have ZERO excuses---time to go. Paula, just glad you enjoyed the pictures---the pain will leave soon.

Corky, it was your Why Baja that started this---I started looking and sorting my pictures since I can't be there right now. And Diver, hey, about 40 years ago, I might have settled into the vicodin, but now I want
baja. :tumble::tumble::spingrin: David, you just got back from Baja, so I can't even speak to you.

So back to this little essay---hopefully, the next one will be with NEW pictures and in the present, not just wonderful memories---

Ok, the drugs bring on some of the munchies--

Maybe I'll join these guys

To gain extra help in healing, maybe I should have visited this place today.

Gees, since we were last in Baja we hear this road has been paved all the way.

Have to get there before they pave the road to here

Well, I must heal soon, or my DH and friends will be here without me

And I will be as lonely as this cactus

So, no more of this longing---just a quick recovery, and off to south of the border.

Thanks for your indulgence
Diane
