Vehicle Registration
Do they ask to see all Vehicle Registration when you enter Baja? I paid for my Vehicle Registration prior to smogging and after 6-7 weeks I have not
received the registration. Going to DMV this AM to get it, but they may make me wait until it is mailed.

I have never been asked for registration at any time I have crossed the border. Bring a copy of your title and mex insurance and you will be fine. In
the event of an accident, title and insurance is all they ask for.

I don't think they really care; I know they don't check.
They don't ask for any paperwork in Baja until you reach the GN checkpoint and Ag inspection where they want to see your FMT. (You can get it there if
you haven't picked it up before.)
On the way home, they occasionally ask for your FMT at the US side.
And they will check for illegal veggies; that's it !

I've been asked for vehicle registration for towed vehicles or motorcycles on a trailer on entering Mexico - several times. - but don't believe that
it has to be current. and they want the original, not photo copies. They asked for registration on a 5th wheel trailer one time after I told the
inspector I was allowed to bring a small generator with my camping gear. Coming back in to US, never been asked for any papers.

they will ask for it sometimes at check points and if the police stop you.

Yes you can get a FMT at GN. I consider that choice as dicey. What happens if they're closed? Or have run out of them? Likely enough. You
don't want to go any further, even if you can, without one.
Tourists have been given a hard time because they didn't have one.
Pick it up at the border, or a Consulate. Play it safe.
