Temporary Import Permit...Problem?

I continue to plan a baja trip in January.

I drove into the Mexican mainland in January of '01. Upon return from that trip I MAY not have returned my temporary vehicle permit paperwork upon exit.

I plan to take the same vehicle on my baja trip in January. If I didn't return the paperwork, what type of problems can I expect? If this matters I have a different drivers license from a different state now. Also, I thought that I read in one of the Church (?) books that a temp permit was not required for baja.

I will appreciate your comments.

Temp Import permit for autos is NOT required for Baja Calif or Baja Calif Sur. Come on down and be happy.

If you still have the holographic decal on your windshield, you can have it removed and have your name and auto taken off the computer system. They will give you a receipt that you can carry if you ever go back to the mainland. The office that does this is near the border in Tijuana. Ask at Immigration. Nice folks.

Think its Banjercito (sp) the army bank that also issues the permits.
