They belong to the crew. If the bilge pump quits, they all beat their wings simultaneously to keep that tub from going down.

Favorite crew recipe
Ah, the fringe benefits of the mar!
A real winner:
Take a friggin frigate, a gullible gull and a puny pelican. Dip fresh dead fowl in boiling water then pluck and save pin-feathers. Gut and clean.
Take the gull and stuff with something and bread cubes or corn meal and season well with oregano, basil, salt and pepper. Insert into body cavity of
dressed out frigate bird.
Next, butter & season frigate skin with paprika and mild chile powder. Insert into salted pelican body cavity. Tie off legs and wings as you
would a turkey and with a skewer close the body cavity lengthwise.
Bake or smoke till legs bones are loose or deep-fry the bird assemblege till skin is dark brn and crispy.
I call this meal friggin-pelgullin
Serve with Dor-roosterfish pate and macrocystis with Kosher salt. Garnish with small cajun-fried brittle stars and toasted pin feathers.
Also works well with Eagles, crows, roadrunners and hummingbirds.
Use your imagination. Be creative.
