Gas in Puertocitos????
Nomads,
Some friends will be riding through Puertocitos in a week or so...and believe that there is a new Pemex there.
I would like to offer them accurate info....
Is there an operating Pemex in Puertocitos????
I know that gas is available at a tienda/cafe just north of there, but know that a year ago there was no operating Pemex between San Felipe and
Gonzaga.
Thanks for any info.

No open Pemex (new or old) in Puertecitos...
If it's an emergency, you will have to ask around.
100 miles from San Felipe to Gonzaga Bay where the next (sometimes open) Pemex is located.
If they are closed, then go just beyond, on the right to the Rancho Grande Store which usually has gas when the Pemex is closed.
Half way between San Felipe and Puertecitos at Ejido Delicias (Chelo's Cafe) gas might be for sale... Km. 35

David,
Thanks for the reply....just as I thought.
That cafe is the establishment I was referring to which did have gas in the back.
As an aside, I am starting a ride report of my recent 4 weeks dirtbiking/lounging in Baja....you may notice one of your stickers on the back of my
truck:

Nice photos! Gee, you have had that Viva Baja sticker for awhile, yes? If you want one of the newer 'got baja?' stickers, just email me your
address.

Chelo's always has gas for sale in Ejido Delicias. The restaurant is open Fri. Sat from 7:00AM to 8M, Sunday for breakfast 7:00 to 12:00 --sometimes 1:00, depending on business. If you come at any other time, drive to
side of restaurant- large white metal door. It will be open during daylight hours during week and they will sell gas. If it's an emergency, just
knock on door and they will sell you some. There's also a Clinic, with 3 very good Doctors here.

Not always... I tried to buy some the trip I took that photo! We went on to Matomi canyon and back to San Felipe via Valle Chico, on fumes... http://vivabaja.com/618
