I'm heading down about half way and am renting a SAT phone. I need info what numbers to call in Baja if there is an emergency of some sort. Thank you for any info.

I believe the Sat. phone will act like you are dialing from inside the USA (or whatever country you obtained the phone from).

The tourist assistance hot line is 078... works from cell phone or landline in Northern Baja.

The international code for calling Mexico (from the U.S.) is 011+ 52+ area code+ seven digit number.

Not necessarily true. The default operator is Mexican in Baja. Go figure! Be prepared to speak Spanish. You should be able connect directly thru them for emergencies.

Whatever you do don't use Globalstar. Irridium has a much better service in Mex.
