Glad you are enjoying them, David... thank you. I'm having so much fun remembering all those past Carnavals!

This shot of the coconut girls is in memory of JR and good times had. It was taken at his request - or demand (grin)!

When it's your float about to begin rolling along with the parade, some little beauties have a moment of nervousness. Are we ready?!

And even after the parade has begun, some realize that they really need.... a bano.

Natalie Ann - those are terrific photos. You are a VERY talented photographer. I have always wanted to be in La Paz for Carnaval, so far no joy, but your photos really show the spirit. Looks like somebody could get in big trouble however :)

Oh thank you so much, friends, for your nice comments! They are appreciated.

Ken - I blush with your praise, thank you... but ya gotta know these kinds of pictures all but take themselves... I just hold the camera up. The colors and feelings and movement and expressions are evolving all around in a very exciting and perfectly safe environment. I just love Carnaval... the reason why can be seen in my pictures.

Paula - You and Don are going to have a wonderful time. Be sure to take ear plugs wherever you go... wherever. There are several reasons, all unimportant. Just do as I say and you'll be fine. Prepare for way more photos than ever you believed you'd take... because you'll want to take that many and more. Have fun!!! I'm counting on you two to bring this one back to me in words and photos... por favor. Oh yeah, be sure to try some of those tacos al pastor - they're outa this world delicious!

Wonderful pictures Natalie. I've always said you had a great eye for pictures.

The coconut girls reminded me of that scene in south pacific. The one where the sailors on the island entertain each other by donning grass skirts and coconuts. The kids loved that part.

Thank you, Skipjack. I see why they would remind you of that scene, which is cute.

I took my photo in front of La Perla during the parade. But I gotta tell you these coconut girls were a big hit with the guys - they posed for photos for a good long time after the parade was over. Crowd of males was so great I thought someone was giving away free Tecate... but no free nuttin', 'cept for a shot of the coconut girls.
