The place you camp is at the place where the whale watching is done they have a resturant and a gift shop too
Stay on Hwy 1 past Guererro Negro the road turns east after a few miles there will be a sign on your right with a whale on it. It will say ejido Benito juarez(sp) whale watching etc.etc. turn there and follow the road there will be signs you will pass/stop at a guard shack at the salt flats. eventually you will come out to the whale watching station. Big parking lot Resturant and stuff there is a guard shack there pay the guy and drive on down to the campgrounds by the water you will be only a few 100 yrds from the resturant or you can drive alittle further away if you like the campsites are clearly marked with rocks painted white. some sites flood during a really high tide of after a good rain. Park so you can use your vehicle as a wind block as it can get quite windy. This is one of our most favorite places to camp in all of Mexico. We will be there on the 17th/18th of Mar. Then on down to Abreojos to fish.
You cannot fish in Ojo de Libre during that time of year even from shore.

The best campsite is out at the end so turn right as you enter the park and drive all the way out to the point where the "birthing canal" is, there is a cool big site at the very corner there on the beach of the canal...this time of year there are few campers there, if this one is taken turn right up the canal and the last site is also neat as it's by the canyon where the coyotes have their condos...also if you walk up this canal a ways you can find petrified sharks teeth on the shore where the pebbles change to small rocks...look in there...happy hunting. If ya make pals with the lancheros they sometimes take ya fishing after whale watching is done in the afternoon which is a treat and funny as it confuses the whales who can't figure out what you are doing NOT watching them! dont' forget to call Sirena when you get there.

I have camped at that site out at the end and also the first few campsites. This year we are 4 vehicles some with trailers and such so we will most likely stay nearer to the resturant/office

Was there last week, ands agree with Shari that the campsites further out are nicer, although all are acceptable. The roads to the furthest campgrounds is still very good graded road, and there are outhouses not too far from most campsites. We saw several folks pulling trailers out to the further campgrounds.
