Baja Bird/Plant/Butterfly Guide???
I am looking for a guide book(s) to help me identify the birds butterflies and plants aroung the East Cape area. Have you found specific good quality
guides and which ones are you recommending. I have at least a dozen interesting birds around my place that I want to know more about. When poking
around the desert it would be nice to know what I am seeing. The moths and butterflies are so colorful I forget to make note for thier
identification. Where are you buying the guides.

David's spot on about the Plant Field Guide.
There is a Peterson/Chalif guide for Mexican birds.
Butterfly guide: The Audubon Society Field Guide to North American Butterflies.
All still in print.

I also agree with DavidK, that is a good Baja specific plant guide. For birds I use the Sibley guide and butterfiles would probably be the national
geographic guide.

We carry field guides for reef fish, sport fish, butterflies, shore birds and marine mammals. These are laminated legalsize double sided
illustrations done by professional artists. I will add that these artists are compensated for each one sold.
The "Baja Plant Field Guide" is out of print awaiting a new edition.(Lets all hope that this is faster than the reprint of the "Baja Almanac")
Besides the Sibley guide, we also carry Peterson "Mexican Birds" and "Western Birds" Many people prefer western for all the migrating birds.
They are available at Tio's Tienda in Los Barriles or here in our showroom in La Choya just outside of La Playa(I just cant bring myself to call it
Puerto Los Cabos)
In the states, they are available on our web site...see below.

Another reason that Norman Roberts book is so useful, that it crosses over and applys to trees and plants and cactuses that are found all over So.
Cal., Arizona and New Mexico. Its truly a benchmark publication!!!

If you check some of the online used book markets, e.g. used.addall.com , you'll find some for sale. alibris.com is another good one. I buy a lot of
out of print books that way.
