ANY LIMITS ON BRINGING BACK FRESH OR FROZEN FISH / SHRIMP ???

Is there a limit as to how much shrimp or fish I can bring back from San Felipe this weekend? Anybody have a favorite place to buy shrimp? Haven't been down there in 20 years. Any suggestions on things to do or places to go would be appreciated or favorite places to eat. Thanks

I believe the regs read a very subjective "amounts for personal consumption" or something like that. I think that's generally interpreted as one medium sized ice chest. Dont forget to ask for a receipt from the seller as US Customs did check me once.

I stopped bringing shrimp back from Mexico many years ago. Well, except for from Guaymas. The products that comes from the Far East is fresher.......and much cheaper, if you buy it on sale. I think it is just better taken care of, not necessarily a more recent catch.

But the shrimp from the co-operativo on the waterfront at Guayamas is usually stellar.

Last week I crossed at Tecate with over 6 kilos of shrimp, 1 kilo of scallops and a bunch of fresh-caught fish filets; no problema !!
Got mine in GN and points south.

I bought mine at the Oasis Super Mercado
fresh were 120 pesos per kilo or 200 pesos for 2
frozen grandes were 150 pesos per kilo
These are the best shrimp we ate in Baja this year by far.

To get to the store;
from the main drag in GN, go one block east of Malamarino and turn north.
About 4 blocks up on the right (east side).
They have the shrimp in the back so you have to ask.

Some friends said they went out to San Carlos and got them for almost 1/2 the price for fresh ones.
