Salsipuedes

On the way down to Ensenada this past Saturday I noticed that the signs advertising the development at Salsipuedes were gone and there was no indication of pending construction. Anyone know what the latest is?

coming north last thursday there was full on activity. retaining walls, back-filling, etc....maybe 'twas siesta when you passed by. can't imagine them stopping construction, it's a beautiful spot.

Oh man, when I saw that stuff happening there at the grove it just about broke my heart.
I had some absolutely epic times there.
Hanging out with Marcellino practicing my Spanish and riding his horse; Learning all kinds of neat stuff from Dr. Lorenzo;
Nice soothing dips in the pool after surfing the entire day with just me and 3 great friends in the line up.......
So many great waves........
Oh well, guess we have to make more memories some place else that hasn't been paved over yet.

You are correct Keri. Ventana al Mar between Salsipuedes and Playa Saldamando is definitely under way....but definitely no sign of anything happening at Salsipuedes.

I agree Halboo....I too have some fond memories of camping and surfing at Salsipuedes. My biggest fear is that they are going to take it over and restrict access to the general public and destroy the campground in the process. I have only surfed the bay....and still want to take the big board out and get the point when it is on....

yeah, i was refering to the ventana development. i'd hope they leave it as is, but progress looms......:barf:

i've only surfed salsi once 24 years ago never to return. it could never be any better than that one day. the shark wouldn't bite and the bee wouldn't sting....:cool:

I've been tempted to camp at Salsipuedes, but I was afraid that my underpowered VW bus wouldn't make it back up the hill.

Here's a portion of my write up while at Salsi ending a long weekend in Baja, "....Mariel and I headed to La Fonda for Lobster and a room while the boys celebrated by polishing off a bottle of Mexico's finest. That night Paul R passed out next to the fire and Ray refined his talent of burrito rolling. Only using Paul as the filling and his sleeping bag as the tortilla. Great times guys!"
