Anyone try to return from Mexico without a passport?

What are they doing with adults who don't have passports?

Rojer, are you talking about air passengers?

The land requirement is delayed until 2008 or ??

Birth Certificates, driver's license, etc. will work for people in cars or on foot.

It would be by plane. I have a chance to go to Zihuatanejo next week and my wife doesn't have her passport yet.

By the way, David K, I hope I'm not plagiarizing your sun avatar too obviously.

She can't go. They won't let her on the plane leaving the U.S. If she could go to TJ first, she could fly from there. I flew to Mexico earlier this year. They are now strict about the whole thing.

No worries Roger!

Doug found the sun avatar for me to look similar to the one I had on Amigos de Baja.

The idea for your wife to fly from Tijuana is a good one! Fly to San Diego, public trans. to Tijuana's airport...

they are firm, airlines won't allow it, a departure w/o pass port.
and by planes private a huge hassle. BBP reporting delays at customs for 3 hours plus and fines can be $5K to start.
