Oh man, it is going OFF here...switched to SW swell yesterday and is enormous...all the kids are surfing right in town now and having a blast and here at the blowhole, it is fantastic...waves crashing over the rocks out in front...spectacular.

I just heard that Mazatlan was flooded by this monster swell...also the ferries are having problems so there will be another fuel shortage in baja sur as the tankers will be held up...we are all filling up now before the shortage occurs....swell still strong here and the kids are so excited to surf right in the village and as they are out of school, they don't have to fake stomach aches to skip classes to surf!

Big storms deep in the Southern Hemisphere and hurricanes off the coast of Mexico send us the south swells this time of year. Check out this tool from Surfline.....it has all of last years info but it is still really interesting. Click on the Pacific Hurricane Watch text to see:

jim, it was POOR conditions in SD. local winds DESTROYED the waves. seems like there was ALOT of wind on the outside that lumped it up before it got close to the beach....

anyone else?

Heard Huntington Beach was a mess also....too walled....extreme sideshore currents....and too consistent to paddle out even if you wanted to.....
