How many Nomads have you met?

I'm not sure this has been covered before. But, I was thinking about how many Nomads I've met. I came up with the following (hope my memory is OK)...
BajaNomad (Doug) - thank you very much for all you do for us.
Mexray
David K and Baja Angel
Capt Mike
Surfer Jim
Square Circle
Elgatoloco
Hook
Mike and Mary Ann Humfreville
Tunaeater
Georock
Alkijeff
JRbaja
Neal Johns
Edie H

I bet David K has the most.... Looking forward to meeting more.

I would have to ask David K, he always reminds me who I've met. He has the best memory for places, dates and faces.

I met all of the Gecko people, DK and Baja Angel, and a few others.

I am pretty certain that I met Capt. Mike back in the mid '90s. My wife (girlfriend at the time) and I caught a panga to cross the river from the Serindad, and we stumbled into him in front of a trailer/house sort of thing on the north shore of the river. He was with a group and they had a bunch of fish, and he gave me a lesson on how to fillet one of them. I murdered the fish when I attempted to fillet it. I'm pretty certain it was him. He had the same beard and build more or less. He smiled and laughed as he talked. Capt. Mike, if that was indeed you, thanks for the filleting lesson.

Now Bob H., you might have started an idea here:light:. It might be kind of fun to do a printout of current members, then as you meet them have them sign off by their names. Carrying the paper around might be a chore but I image someone will sort it out and start a little contest. Might be fun to put in $5.00 dollars each and then set a year from the date and have a meeting place by the beach with another buy in of $20.00 dollars for BBQ, a 3 bottle of beer or 3 glasses of wine with all the soda and tea you can drink. Would just need a place that a lot of people could get to. Make it where you have to send in your money up front and once in no refunds, as it is too hard to do a meeting party without enough money up front. Just sometime to think about and maybe some of the lucky ones that are retired already could put the wheels in motion. Spin the wheel and see where it lands and the winner is:spingrin:????? Click on 'Member List' at the top of every Nomad page (in the blue bar) to see a list of Baja Nomads based on name (alphabetical), date registered or number of posts...

To see photos of Baja Nomads (for example to see what Capt. Mike looks like) then you will find that many have attended my Viva Baja parties of 2000-2003 or M's 'BBBB' events of 2001-2002 or Keri's booksigning events of 2003 to 2006 (and next Saturday!): I have photos from all of them (except BBBB #3) linked on my home page, www.VivaBaja.com.

Photos taken at last November's Viva Baja Cactus event can be found here on Baja Nomad's Baja Trip Reports forum.

Baja loving people who usually travel on their own (ie. nomads) occaisionally like to party together... It is fun to be with others who have 'Baja fever', like you!

No Steve, BBBB #3 was at Gonzaga Bay... (#1 and #4 at Cielito Lindo, # 2 at Guadalupe Canyon).

Isn't #3 when you 'graded' the road to Gonzaga from Hwy 1 with the Suzuki ahead of your moho?

Don't know if this counts

But the first person I met was thru the amigos board for lunch at Cien Aņos in Tijuana was Lorenzo de Baja, LdB, then it was the people that attended the first David K's (Dr. Drip)Viva Baja party in 2000 and then Amo and David in Rosarito when I was working a very hard job covering up semi naked girls by the pool.:saint:

I feel like I know many of you personally but to the best of my knowledge I have only actually met Paulina and Dern face to face. I tried to meet BajaCactus once when I was gassing up at his station in El Rosario but he was off in Tijuana at the time. Oh well, maybe I'll meet more at next year's book signing at Keri's.

Jeeeeezzzzus. Debra. Boo someone for putting their cigarette butts out on the beach and they will forever call you Mean-O. For your information that big long sand thing down by the waters edge is not an ash tray, and I hate smokers who throw their buts where ever they damn well please.:moon:

My list would be long as I went to a David K party and M's BBBB bash at Celito Lindo. What is more important to me though is that I have met some very close friends over the years thanks to this board and Amigo's. Nomads certainly is a connecting point to stay in touch with people who are born to wander, as well as a hub of valuable information. Saludos all.

Sylens, you forgot Lizard Lips. So you can add one more to your growing list. We are setting up another outing at Casa Mar in June, are you in?
