Safety Seal Liquid Patch

EDM - I have not used it.

I do have, as do many on this board, the regular Safety Seal kit and have used it with 100% success a good number of times.

May/June 2002 issue of Harry Lewellyn's "Ecological 4 Wheeling Adventures" newsletter did a very in depth article about the liquid patch.

Lewellyn makes the disclaimer that this is not suitable for highway or high speed use, but wonderful in an off-highway emergency situation. He explains all that in the article.

The rub is that you need to dismount the tire to use this product. I recall in an earlier thread you said you have dismounted tires in the past. Good for you.

The bottom line in this fairly long article is that this Safety Seal product lives up to the expectations of advertisements.

You no doubt have your own brand of tools to dismount a tire but Lewellyn recommends the "tyrepliers" - see link below:

A mention of Harry Lewellyn - he has quite a history of leading off-road tours in the states and Mexico. I don't know why but he is not in that "business" any longer. He wrote about and tested a huge number of products over the years. Many of his articles are available on line or for purchase. This guy seemed to test products well beyond their normal uses.

You may be interested is some of these stories - they can be accessed through www.eco4wd.com

I have no financial interest, or personnal knowledge of his tests or opinions - except to say these things seem to be "Baja Proven" - as Dick Cepek was fond of saying.
