Inspired by Paula's walk in the desert

The walk to the "half way shrine" would be 9k, so we'll drive.

Far in the distance, the Bahia San Nicolas, and just ahead the fishermen's shrine.

There are always candles burning, surrounded by trinkets and a few pesos...

That's a beauty vgabndo

And you are such a nice person to tell us where it is, rather than being a tease like some other Nomads:dudette:

Diver: Here's a bad photo of the location. It makes more sense if you can go to Google Earth and find these coordinates. I can't figure out how to post the Google image here, perhaps someone else can. Pretty easy to ID the switchback!

26 deg. 30' 40.07 N
111 deg. 35' 39.74.W

That is the Bahia Conception to the NNW in the distance.

Vgabndo, excellent photos and footpath of Paula. Can't wait to return to Baja come September. These photos are really inspiring.

footpath of Paula...

... it would have been a nice walk, but I was in a different desert.

I am putting San Nicolas on my list of places to go:yes:

Well Paula...here are some other reasons to visit the wonderful folk of SN and their surroundings.

From the estuary looking south through the Bastida property to the church in the distance.

Here's the church closer up. Much of the work was done by and paid for my a few gringo friends of the community.

The people live all over the arroyo, but most of the concentration of dwellings is on the near side below the Cardon. If you knew where to look, La Ramadita and San Sebastian are along the curve in the distance.
