Feds may suspend border passport rule

WASHINGTON - The Bush administration may suspend a major post-9/11 security initiative to cope with increasingly angry complaints from Americans whose summer vacations are threatened by new passport rules.

Sounds like a good compromise to me.

Leave it to the government to impose conditions they cant service.

Why would our government do anything they say they will do? Saying, gets attention and votes. Doing, costs money which, of course is nonexistant when we have to rebuild all the crap we've blown apart in the middle east. Close down fire stations here so we can build them in Bahgdad while we burn their country down.
Jeezo.. What have we done to ourselves to allow this?

We can't walk away from what we started. It's ours and we're screwed.

S***w 'em

The Government has been publicizing this for over a year. Travelers have had time to get passports but they all wait till the last minute and then whine.

Besides, some Americans just shouldn't be allowed to travel.

(You know who you are.)

That should be the uneducated young, They should be kept home to do the jobs the Mexicans won't do.
The educated young should be inscripted to have their asses blown off because they don't understand the Muslim world.
I'm sure they would be proud to do just that.

Never thought I'd ever say this, but, I agree with Dave here :) having spent almost 20yrs. as a Travel Agent...some people, not just Americans, are just to dumb to be allowed out of their own homes, let alone into another country, sad, but true. :O

Dennis the Menace

It seems that Dennis is stretching his associations just a bit, wouldn't you say ? It's something of a leap from the typical American tendency to put off things to the last minute (the Gas Crises were a good example) to either being slaves to poverty wages or being murdered by Diaperheads.

Even I wasn't about to steer a discussion of passport requirements into a War and Peace diatribe.

Such are the musings of the Left.

MrBill----------

Me?.......Left?

Please. Do an educated charachter analysis before you commit slander. Calling me a lefty is like calling you a N-zi. Both labels are far too "left" of the truth.

Yikes! Here we go again........"Baja News" board.....morphs into "Baja Political" board. Come-on guys? Please, please, take this to U2U or "off topic" or ?..........

One of my favorite people to "argue" with is "Mean-O" ( Skeeter and I also once thought we were at other ends, couldn't be more from the truth!) "Mean-O" once said I had "no politcal views" truth was, I decided not to dicuss my views on the board (which gets you nowhere, but, angry........so we took it private and found we agreed more that either of us thought...........GO FIGURE!.......sooooooooo, maybe, one on one would be much more productive? Go for it guys, it's okay........I would just really appriecate it if you would get out from in front of my face (I'm speaking for myself only, but, I suspect that I'm not the only one?) Hugs, enjoy you "debate"
