La Rumorosa / Laguna Hanson / Mex3
Anyone traveled that trail recently? What's the difficulty/ease?
What's the drive time from La Rumorosa to Laguna Hanson?
What's the drivetime to Laguna Hanson to Mex3(10 miles east of Ojos Negros?)?
Thanks in advance

Drove south from La Rumorosa recently to Laguna Hansen. Road was in good shape; much like a main forest service road here in the states.
There was a 9" dia tree down across the road that required a 100 yard detour through the forest around it. Many cars in the area, so I suspect it has
been removed or the detour is now the main road. The detour was fine.. just a
little 2 foot high berm to go up at the side of the road... if you are driving the rig in your avatar you will be fine.
Drive time... took crazy way there.. but on return from Laguna Hansen to La Rumorosa on the main road.. about one hour.
Have a great trip.

David is right, I meant Mex3. I'm planning to take the Laguna Hanson route to San Felipe/ShellIsland/etc.

how fast you drive I guess.
From Hanson to ojos Negros it's about 30 miles and takes about 1 hour and 10 minutes, add another 30 minutes to reach Ensenada and then to Mex one.

you see I was wrong! but seriously from where you exit from the Laguna Hanson Rd not Ojos Negros.the main entrance off mex 3 to Cruzero La
Trinidad(mex 5),it's about 90mls -/+
so I think it's more that an hour.

That sounds pretty good on the north leg. I think it took me 3 or 4 hours to get there from El Condor on the rougher scenic route when I was taking
my time, stopping, exploring, etc..
It only took me about one hour back because I had driven 1/2 of it on the way in and it was going to be getting dark within a few hours.
I found the road was in good shape, I was able to find a line out of most of the washboarding, and was able to go pretty fast (40mph or so) safely in
many stretches. Two hours sounds about right if you don't get lost or stop much.
I'm not sure about the best way to find the road going south from La Rumorosa..(as I entered from a different route) it might be a little hard to find
of the main libre road or to pick your way through the neighborhoods, so you might want to budget an extra 1/2 hour for just getting lost, etc.. It
seemed to be a pretty well used route and had some signage..I am just not sure how good it is at the turnoff of the main road.
I have a GPS with maps of Baja loaded on it and a Baja Almanac, .. so it helped me out a lot.
Have fun.

My GPS map shows one way southbound from Rumorosa to L. Hanson, passing Ponderosa before going into the national park. This route then forks into two
trails and merge again. Before the trail ends in L. Hanson, there are trails going to the left and right, one to Olivia and the other to San Luis.
The southbound route from L. Hanson to Mex3 is the one that has many trails and turns and possibilities. I plan to take the one towards the west (El
Rayo/La Huertita) and go south from there, moving south-southwest towards Compadre trail, finally ending at Mex3/Rd-to-La-Huertita junction, which is
about 10 miles east of Ojos Negros and a long way north of Valle Trinidad. There's a lot of zig-zagging trails through this route, so it'll be easy to
get lost. Mango, you're right, I'll add additional time (30 min to 1 hours for "lost" time) just in case I take the wrong zig or zag.
