I had Mcafee block it and it went away...I do not allow updates on the fly. doubt if there is any risk at this site, but I always go to the site of
issue. JMO

--Larry | As noted by Lencho, he pointed out there's a significant security hole in Flash that's now been
"fixed" in a new release from Adobe. I felt it was significant enough to accordingly alter the flash player script in these pages to require use of
that new version # as a minimum guideline at this time.
As also noted by others, depending on the security settings you have setup on your machine, you may (or may not) be able to decline the update.
Thanks for your understanding.

Microsoft Thuggery
Sitting at my Wife's Desktop and using Internet Explorer, I have just encountered the example noted. The banner gives only the option of installing
the update and each page refreshment takes a longer time because I have not yet updated. Using Netscape I don't have that problem.
Since I never use "Flash Player" I'm not enthusiastic about the download. I'll play with the security settings after reading the explanation.

I use Mozilla/Firefox as my browser. I have searched for Adobe Flash and can't find it. I have not had an attempted download from Doug.
I also have Explorer, but rarely use it.
In the past I have seen a popup from my ESP, Comcast Cable, with an update available, but didn't download it. Now I can't find any reference to it on
the Comcast Homepage either. So, I guess if I don't have it, it is not an issue(?).

Not being certifiably nerdy, where do I go to download an upgrade? How do I find it on my hard drive?

the page, then you have Flash installed.

No Video !
Si, I have video disabled in ALL of my Browsers. No, I have no animated banner at the top of the page. I have NEVER seen anything on Youtube or any
other Video site. Probably never will.
I, too, RARELY use IE. The only reason I have it on a machine is that some websites, such as McAfee, insist on IE. No doubt getting something from
Bill G. There is a problem with running Netscape on my wife's Desktop which, so far, I haven't been able to figure out. If it were more important,
I'd devote more time to it.
As I said, only once on Netscape did it offer to download and, once I declined, I haven't seen it since.

OK, one last question, I hope:
The Bajabound.com at the top of the page is not animated; not on mozilla and not on IE. I have pop ups disabled on both. On IE, there is a pop up
notice advising that I install Flash, and also on my home page, Comcast. Net. I guess I have never installed Flash on my system. However, I have
viewed UTube many times.
Question: Even though it is not installed, am I vulnerable whenever I click on UTube?

IE Slowdown
I corrected the SSLLOOWW page loading by changing my security level to HIGH. Now I don't get the slow load and the prompt banner for download, but I
do get a Beep and a banner that says " your security settings do not allow websites to use ActiveX controls installed on your computer". OK by me.
At least, it loads fast.

me whether you have Flash running in your browser. If you go to Youtube and have a video window running, what happens when you right-click on that
window? Or if you're concerned about security, what happens when you try to open this link:
http://www.cibnor.mx/flash/browsercap.swf
(I vouch for the safety of that one)?

Turns out I did have an older version of Flash installed. It took awhile to figure it out, but I was finally able to update it. Strange that the alert
didn't come from anywhere else; just Bajanomad, even though I didn't get the attempted upgrades from Bajanomad that others did. Anyhow.....I'm
grateful for the heads up. If the upgrade repairs the vulnerable portal that Bajanomad has detected, I guess I am now hermetically sealed.

Similar to Lencho's link to test whether you have Flash or not - and if so, which version - here's one at the source:
http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/about/
And here's where you can download the latest version if you're having difficulty having it install automatically:
http://www.adobe.com/go/getflash
(make sure to uncheck the box that ALSO installs the Google Toolbar - unless you would want it, of course)
Again, clarification - as I'm getting a comment or two regarding the misunderstanding of what is happening here.
About 98.6% of US/Canada internet users browsing the web have Flash-enabled software:
http://www.adobe.com/products/player_census/flashplayer/vers...
4 days ago (on Jul 10 '07) Adobe (current owner/developer of this software) announced a "critical" security issue with the Flash software:
http://www.adobe.com/support/security/bulletins/apsb07-12.ht...
I've upgraded the code within the pages here when running Flash to require use of the latest version for Windows and Mac users (version 9.0.47.0). I
feel this is the appropriate thing to be done with this situation.
If you're using Flash, you should upgrade. I am not aware of any exception to this - even with older computer hardware systems.
If you would prefer to NOT use Flash at all, then I would either uninstall it, or block/disable it. References:
