Decent restaurant in Tecate with secure parking?
I am leading a group of 4WD vehicles into Tecate for dinner on Saturday evening. I was thinking about us parking at one of the bank lots across from
the main plaza, but it would feel best if the place had some sort of security. We will be hot and sweaty from a day on the trail, so, we cannot just
'crash' a nice restaurant. We were thinking about one of the places near the main plaza, but not sure if we can just leave our Jeeps sitting around
while we eat & drink...

There is a good Chinese restaurant with a big parking lot & big windows to watch your rigs. I don't remember the name of it but it is just
southeast of the brewery on the south side of Blvd Oscar Baylon.
From Hwy 3, turn west onto Blvd Oscar Baylon (at the baseball stadium). The restaurant will be on your left just before the first stop sign. Can't
miss it.Google earth says it's coords are 32 34 12.96 N X 116 37 40.15 W
The place has long family style seating to accommodate your group with a full bar to quench your thirsts. I had one of the shrimp lunch combos for
about 65 pesos. It was muy delicioso but I still couldn't finish it all. "Chinese food in Mexico?" you say. It may seem wierd but Northern Baja is
known for it. I've only been to this place once but I'll be back.
PS: What camera setup are you using for your website pictures. They look fantastic.

the chineese came to work on the railroads in the USA...
when they were "asked" to leave and "go home" some came to northern mexico...the president of mexico granted them a stay of 50 years...
by the end of 50 years ALOT of babies had been born in mexico and were natural citizans...
ALOT traveled to all parts of mexico and to this day keep chineese names

Thanks for the info and comments on the photography. I will definitely look up this restaurant! The camera is the Sony Cybershot 7.2 Megapixel

This camera captures everything so well, and it is very easy to use. Just point and click. It even has a function to reduce the red eye in peoples
eyes...

One of the large Chinese family networks throughout Baja is the Yee clan. In Mulege they drive a lot of the business community. You will see the name
Yee on restaurants, a hardware store and a market.

The Ley Supermarket chain, based in Sinaloa, was Chinese-Mexican owned and operated until it was bought out by Safeway a few years ago.

I don't think so---I was in a Ley store in Mexicali last year and as I recall, it wasnt accepted there. They will take them at Safeway in Canada,
however.
