Morro Bay 7/27
I made an absolutely magnificent dive today in Morro Bay. We saw 7 species of nudibranchs, including the very rare and very beautiful Janolus
barbarensis. Today was particularly nice because I made the dive with my best dive buddy, my daughter Coleen.
One of the world's most beautiful nudibranchs:
Another view of Janolus, this time he is crushing a smaller Hermissenda crassicornis:
Triopha maculata:
Triopha catalinae:
Dungeness crab:
Fringehead:
Shrimp on red starfish:

Ken Bondy, I think what makes an artist is to have the "eye", to be able to see, and than translate a vision in to a form that can be shared with
others.
Your vision is awesome, thank you so much for sharing what You see; You are a great artist.
Saludos, Sara

Nice!
I remember being impressed with Janolus barbarensis when I first saw it in your manuscript. A truly exceptional animal,
Glad you spent some quality time with your daughter. I'm embarking on a baja vacation with my Alex tomorrow. Decided to take a break from the
preparation for a few minutes and peak at nomads.

Oh Yeah, Sally, now that you mention it, I went back and looked, looks like the little guy is pukering up for a kiss, (I know, I have watched to many
cartoons). Anyway, cute little fellow.

Mil gracias Cypress, Santiago, Bajagypsy, Sara, Igor, amir y Sally. Your kind words mean more than you can know. In fact each time now, on the
3-hour drive home from Morro Bay, I find myself thinking "wonder what the Nomads are gonna think of this set...."
@Igor, Sally, sara -- Janolus is truly an incredibly beautiful creature. That sure does look like a puckered little face just below the rhinophores
(the elongated "stalks" with the serrated blue tips). Also, they have a pretty little orange pattern on the body right between the rhinophores, I've
never noticed that before. But then I've only seen Janolus three times in the last forty years .
Igor have a great time in Baja. I am envious. My next time will be next month when I board the boat for Guadalupe Island in Ensenada. Hopefully
after that trip I will have some good great white shark photos to show you.
Daughters are truly wonderful Sally. Coleen and I have been diving together for more than 20 years. The things we have seen underwater have created
a special bond between us that will last both lifetimes. It's like an unspoken secret we will always share.
Abrazos,
++Ken++
