Yep.
Inquire at Alfonsina's.
In my experience, they can call in a rudimentary, commercial-style panga (as opposed to a Rancho Leonero class, buffed out super panga) and "guide"
for the following morning.
The only requirement for love or chorizo is confidence.

Is there anyway to contact Alphosinas to arrange before our arrival?
What do they charge for hotel rooms?

I wouldn't depend on contacting Alfonsina's in advance---chances are there would be no acknowledge of your reservation when you arrive. Just go
there, interact for a while, and then make your request.
I think rooms are around $40US per night. Cash only.
Their restaurant has the best fish dinners anywhere---no exaggeration.

A room for three is $65US per night. Weather in the high 90's, water temps. around 85 and no fish. Alfonsinas was empty last week. The panga's were
mostly setting gill nets in the bay.
Alfonsinas now has a phone, I did not ask for the number. Figured it wouldn't be much help anyway.

Wow, it sounds like we might be better off going to BOLA. I was hoping Gonzaga would be better, fish wise, due to it being slightly harder to get to.

The fish find it as easy to get there as anywhere along
the coast

I was in BOLA in Aug one year, the air was 105 and the water was about 90. No fish I think the water was too warm.

No fish?
Pull up next to a 30K center console flogging the water for yellows, dive down, load your boat with grouper and cabrilla for dinner...then maybe throw
those other guys a lunker for goodwill.
Saw my bro do exactly that near Gonzaga.

That is exactly what chaps my hide about spear fishermen. They kill so much more than they need.
Slowmad, ever read "last of the blue water hunters"? Great pics of Gonzaga with mucho tonnage of rotting Groupers on the beach at Pappa's.
