I love that place! I went there quite a few times earlier this summer.
The owner is so nice and yes! the staff is very attentive........... almost as quick as the 'dustpan sweepers' at Disneyland ,lol, when it comes to
clearing up tables for the waiting crowd of customers. "Todo es Bueno! Delicioso" - rates right up there with any truck stop, tasty burger joint in
the U.S.
thanks for the new location update............ definitely will check it out next trip down there.

I like the burgers there but can't get my wife to go there anymore. She doesn't like rare hamburger. The last time we went we told Carlos and he said
no problem. Well, out came a burger raw in the middle again. That was it for her. Too bad. His new location is nice and looks like business is good
for him.
I think the world is run by C- students.

Ate there (Bandido's) last night. Just a block away from Marina de la Paz. Had a margarita, friends had beers. Don't eat beef, but he has a great
chicken Teriyaki burger. Very nice place. Doing a good business. Owner speaks English (from San Jose, CA). No comments from wife, etc.on "rare"
meat. Suggest talking to Rossi, the owner if there is a problem.

Missing Mesquite Mary's
This is good info, my wife will be delighted to know there's a place that compares to the much-missed Mesquite Grill. The word we got on its
departure from Madero street is that Mary's business taxes and hassles with the city got too onerous to bear anymore, so she closed the grill, sold
and/or moved out of her house at the corner of Revolucion and Constitucion and I think moved back to the 'States.
Mary's former residence has been remodeled into a new up-market restaurant -- with valet parking no less -- and will open soon -- as soon as the
property owner figures out how to run a restaurant, that is. Word is, he committed to lease the place to an experienced restauranteur who runs a
successful place out at Costa Baja, the poor guy went out and bought all the equipment he needed for the build-outs, and then the owner went backwards
on his lease-commitment, figuring he can make more money if he runs the place himself. It'll be interesting to watch this one.
The burgers at the Buffalo Grill are good, no doubt about that, but for 75 pesos they certainly should be. We groan every time we drive by the site
of Mary's old place. Her burgers were grilled to perfection, the condiment bar was always well-stocked so you could dress your own burger, the prices
were reasonable as could be and the vibe was always congenial. Oh man, what has happened to the funky old La Paz that used to be, where has it gone.
No, don't answer that, it was a rhetorical question.
Valet parking? In La Paz?

75 pesos for a hamburger?
That's more expensive than the proverbial "six dollar burger" UP HERE..........which is only 3.95!
Is that a combo with fries or a salad or something?

Valet parking, hmmm? I'm trying to imagine the protocol. So I cruise up in my '87 Samurai, turn over the keys with a flourish to some dude in a
spiffy uniform, and then what? Do I jump out in my jeans and t-shirt or wait for him to give me a hand down? Does he offer to check my windbreaker?
The mind reels.

Just turning your keys over to someone is enough to give me pause. I dont like it even up here.
Well, that and I'm kind of a cheapazz............

I live about a block from the Bandido's Grill - BBQ Burger La Paz. I would love to go there and have tried repeatedly, after that I would never ever
eat there right now. Horrible. They are completely insane. Who is going to pay nearly 100 pesos for hamburger and fries and drink or more for a sit
outside hamburger stand in winter when a block away hamburgers are 10-20 pesos and made to your perfect satisfaction?
You have to be crazy to go there where the service is horrible and the food isn't well prepared and pay outrageous prices. They can't make it, they
are empty and are failing miserably... Why they changed from being successful last year with good prices and good services to a place where everything
sucks no one can explain. I challenge you to sit there and become frustrated and disappointed without walking out before the meal is done. It might be
the cook or the horrible wait staff or the quality of the meat or over worked chef or who knows... 0 on a scale of 10.

There is a serious disconnect here! We have eaten at Bandido's and the service was excellent. The place was packed with customers with more
arriving as we left. We were there at 6 PM, I assume that the crowd really picked up around 9 - 10, but too late for me. Lots of cars parked in
front. Our party had the chicken teriyaki burger, hula burger, regular burger, ribs, and the french fries. All agreed they were excellent. We have
heard nothing but praise for the place. In fact, they hope to open for breakfast in a month. Really seems successful by their product and patronage.
The fact that there are cheaper alternatives in La Paz gives folks other options. They can choose. For me, we'll be back many times with friends.

Is Bandito's still around? The website link seems dead. I'm not thrilled about paying that much for a burger, but last year when we were in La Paz,
the Chembe's burger was excellent, so I'm willing to pony up the pesos if the burger is still good.

Still in business. Haven't had a burger there in quite some time (see my earlier post as to why) but stopped in for breakfast the other morning. The
breakfast was good but made the mistake of sitting too close to the BBQ so lots of flies. Probably won't go back again anytime soon.

We stopped by Banditos this evening. There was a constant 4 or 5 tables seated, so business would be steady, but I don't see them doing the volume
they did when they were Chembes up on the main road.
The basic burger was 25p, the bandito was 30p. Fries added 25p onto the bill...pacificos were 25 each. So, two banditos, a fry and 3 beers....160
pesos. Ok value. Burgers had good flavour, but as has been mentioned in this thread, were rare-ish.
We ate here out of loyalty to the old Chembes, the burger was a nice break from the steady tortilla diet we've been on. Is this the best meal around?
nope. But it does have its place in my opinion.
