Estero beach like hotel in same area
Well, there's the Marina Coral, but it's pricey and no beach. Very safe for trailers.
Nice pool for the kiddies, though.

You mean, other than the fact that he says it's booked up?

Oops, I missed that? In November??? That seems odd. Let me suggest this place -- not right on the beach but easy to get to the beach: Ensenada
Beach House; cute motel on the road to Estero. Owned by an American who seems pretty security minded. The website is www.ensenadabeachhouse.com It's right next to Mario's Restaurant (the former chef at Estero...). He (Tom) has a nice pool and I think he locks
the place up tight at night (gated parking).

It seems strange that the Estero Beach Hotel is booked up in November. It is huge. I stopped there a couple years ago in December and it was close to
deserted.

I'm thinking it's because of the Baja 1000. ???

I just spent four days at Estero, had one of the "cottages" right on the point. It was awesome.I was told by one of the sons, Louis Novelo, That his
father, Antonio,is completing the development on the penninsula that was originally started being built as a casino, and that is is soon to be open
and ready for business.I have known this family for fifty years and would definately consider my next vacation at this new resort.I will try to find a
link to this tomorrow. As far as Estero and being booked goes, well, that makes no sense at all(in your timeframe) I would call them again, if you
really want to stay there, and ask for the person in charge of resos.Email does NOT work with them .U2U me if you want more info.

The new development that Novelo is completing is not at the site of what was to be the casino - the casino location is the former Baja Beach &
Tennis Club which has been closed down since (actually prior to) the eviction (Oct 2000 if memory serves). The new Novelo property is located in the
area known as Agua Caliente a stone's throw from Campo La Jolla. Looks to be about complete and looks like condos or time-shares perhaps?
Agua Caliente is not something I've seen mentioned on this board. There are thermal springs running under the beach into the bay. At low tide there
are lots of folks out there digging holes for their oceanfront hot tub. The sand is so hot you can barely stand on it. On cool days you can see the
steam rising off the sand. If you're in the area this is something to experience.

Well, as you know, the rumor mill grinds away. I heard yesterday that he is withholding his generous contribution and that, for reasons unknown,
work has stopped.
My source of indisputable information is Paty's so, who knows.
I'm on my way down there now so, I'll get recharged with more stories of local life as it is, isn't, should be, will be, won't be' might be,
might not be...........well, you know.

every time i wanted to stay there. holiday or not - just WHEN is their down season??
the int'l flyin sams are having their convention there 3rd weekend in oct and those rates are really high even for a group. personally i think they
got ripped on the rates, 100 a nite for the basic room that shows as $70 on their site.
oh well - i'd pay it during summer but oct? that's when the SOC is best!

The last time we were in Estero beach they wanted $10.00 per person per car to simply look around.

That place has always been priced to keep the locals out. Used to be able to buy a real Rolex in the gift shop. Probably still can. I know lots of
people come to Baja to buy a Rolex so, give'm a try. They might validate your parking with purchase.
