Real Estate Resales in Rosarito, Now that Ain't Right
Now some times it amazes me how people that are getting, in their minds, screwed over quickly do the same to others. The property in Rosarito Shores
and at Rene's in Rosarito are properties that are subject to take over by the owners due to a future Marina or big dollars from a sale since the homes
or trailers are on leased land. Knowing this these same people that are depressed for having to wait for that tap on the shoulder and told to leave
are selling to unsuspecting new owners hoping to have a long Baja home experience. Rumors or just talk, well remember this post as the time is closer
than you think. I feel bad for those in this situation and the unsuspecting being placed in the same situation from those running as fast as they can
from their homes which some have lived in for 30 years or more. Leased land and building something like a house or trailer/modular home on it is just
a shoulder tap away from being a real estate fool. Later, bajafun777

Greed
Unsuspecting - no.
Greed drives the buyer. They know perfectly well that a home on the beach anywhere along the coast means a big dollar outlay.
They go to Rosarito Shores and the price is much lower.
Do they say to themselves - oh my, there must be something wrong?
No - they say - I'm such a shrewd buyer, I will get this property at a good price and I will sell it for more.
It is greed and stupidity - not unsuspecting.
In Punta Banda, retired US civil servants were buying homes for a fraction of the cost, after the residents were served with court papers and the
whole world was full of the story. Later, they appeared on US TV complaining that the $1M home on the beach that they bought for $200K was being
taken away from them. Greed.
This is just another example of the "greater fool theory" of real estate - it isn't restricted to Baja.

Gull, I agree greed is definately a part of it but you would be surprised at how many new people to Mexico do not have a clue, all they know is that
you deal hard and great deals. I do believe in "Let the Buyer Beware" has a major part in any deal whether in Mexico or the U.S.A. I guess I would
have a problem taking advantage of someone, even if I was telling myself it's their fault for trying to take advantage of me. Since they would not be
knowing that the property has no real value, so to speak since it is going to be torn down later. Additionally, who had the greater use of the
property and the best fun and great times from the use of it over a long period of time. I feel for the older owners loss but again should the coming
pain be passed on to those that have no clue??? Later---bajafun777

Call me an old socialist, but i believe that investment speculation should have never been alowed when it comes to personel dwelings... it has led
to ugly practice of turning... and had driven up the price of dwellings out of reach of the vanishing middlle class .

So, many of us have come to Baja to find a retirement that is actually with in our reach..... is that greed ?

Why do I think that you answered your own question by your initial observation in your post?

I'd be very interested to know exactly what is being misrepresented. A campo sale would first necessitate a renegotiation of a land lease.
Additionally, it is common for the land owner to receive a commission from the sale.
I don't see how knowledge of any planned future development could be kept from a potential new owner...
Unless there were collusion between seller and landlord.
