More of Hurricane Henriette's Impact
We received only a couple of hours of light rain and normal winds here at Pta. Pequena as the storm passed on the other side of the Peninsula. But
last night, only one day after the storm, the full impact of it's fury arrived.
THE HUMAN IMPACT is still unfolding ...
a neighbor just came over seeking medical treatment and supplies to remove the bug that had flown in to his ear.

We don't have geckos here and I've always wondered why-
Too dry ? Too far north at latitude26 ?
I've seen them in Loreto, are there geckos in Mulege?
The flying insect photo was so unusual because, except for 1 or 2 days after a rare rain shower, there are relatively few flying bugs here. Maybe
there aren't enough to support a gecko population.

If you want Geckos don't spray insecticides they won't make your home theirs.

Cabo Ron, "Here" is at Punta Pequena outside the town of San Juanico on the Pacific side.
A few lizards but none that cling to the ceiling.
Mostly just scorpions out here, under every rock, under the garage door, in the plants, in the dune buggy...
But I just saw a flock of swallows and hopefully they'll stick around until dark

I was at a ritzy party one time (a cardiothoracic doc friend was having an open house) and while I was talking to a fellow on the porch, a bug flew
into my ear and started doing a tapdance on my tympanum. It was no laughing matter! Imagine a membrane that is designed to pick up delicate
vibrations in the air being beat on like a prizefighter on a speed bag.
I started jumping around like I needed an exorcism, but I livened up the party a bit.
