Mexicali this weekend 16th

I was wondering if anyone knows what is going on this weekend in Mexicali. I will be coming thru there Sunday and wanted to know if I would have a problem with traffic?
Thanks Mick

Mick,

I haven't heard of anything special going on in town; but, thats not to say that there will not be. The night of the 15th and the day of 16th is independence day here. The flag vendors and trinket sales people have been out in force for about two weeks now. Something is building.. so I would not be too surprised to see some sort of public type party; but, usually it will just be scattered groups of people drinking, shooting off large fireworks, loud music, etc.. etc..

I will try to post something if I hear of any road closures, etc. You may want to check the local paper's online website on Saturday before you leave.
