For the Birds

Just for fun, some photos of the birds who very quickly learned our fish cleaning schedule this last summer. They also served as our alarm clocks first thing in the morning as well.

Great shots. One captain of a day boat in San Diego scolded all of us fishermen on deck for throwing bait into the air for the birds to catch. He yelled "those birds are just like family, the better you feed em, the more they poop on ya."

Yea Russ, bring 'em on! I love the pelicans. Every morning they would fly overhead in formation. We call them the "Mexican Airforce", (no disrespect intended.) Sometimes they were so low that we could hear the woosh-wooosh of their wings.

We also call the seagulls "Politican birds" as they all tend to stand around a fish squawking at each other, getting nothing done about eating it.

Thanks for adding your photos.

Great photos! Thanks for sharing. Those birds look full of personality - and, yes, probably poop, too!

Trying to keep thread on track. I don't have anything quite so elegant.

I was lazing back in the panga when I saw the pelican heading straight down in what seemed like my direction. Big splash and bunch of sputtering. By the time I figured it out, pelican was enjoying breakfast.

This guy rang his bell on a neighbors window. After about 45 minutes he flew away.
