Casita on the Sea of Cortez
This might be a tall order...but here goes.
I am looking for a bungalow or other lodging (with full kitchen) on the water on the Sea of Cortez. The plan is to spend a couple of weeks enjoying
total relaxation with my inflatable boat on the beach in front.
Last March we stayed in El Cardinal which met our needs perfectly. This time i was hoping to find a place a bit closer.
Thanks for any suggestions you might have. I really appreciate it.

Kit, you have struck a sharp chord. Ron has made it resonate. This subject is the bush at the bottom of the garden. "Closer to town" is what you
meant. Closer to all the amenities. A triple cheap private camping paradise real close to all the comforts. Sound familiar? The privacy is still
Baja California, the "close to all the good stuff" is the coming thing. It is coming way too fast. You now must choose: One or The Other, not both.
The U.S. National park system has survived for almost 200 years on the theory that you want to camp out but you want to "Stay Close". GO BACK TO
CARDINAL.

What about Bob and Susan's new digs.
On Conception Bay with beautiful surroundings,
They have a website ( can't think of it ) and are regulars on this board. Should have no trouble finding it.
Try "Playa Frambes ". Hope I got that right Bob

we had the palm trees and water pumps delivered yesterday...
wednesday pacifico brought by our "liquor license" (we're in baby)
4 blue tables and 16 blue chairs
susan was swimming in the pool last night...
(casamanza...she had a suit on...too many people around now)
susan has me carrying in furniture now...
she's a slave driver!!!
you know how many pieces of furniture 6 houses take
boy...am i sore...ALL over

This is so frustrating.... over and over on this board people make refrence to "down here" or some such thing...but never give their location ...(it
can be added to the side banner in your profile).... How is anyone to know what they are talking about ?
Just remember when posting that we are not mind readers and may not know you or your location......even though you know where you are doesn't mean
that anyone else knows.
Let's try and make our posts clearer when writing to total strangers on this board.....then maybe you will get good information instead of quips.

And... if I read it right, try the San Felipe area. Can't get much closer then that.

Osprey: My apologies for being nebulous. But your assumption is absolutely incorrect. By "closer", I meant closer to the U.S. border. Since I live in
Oregon, I prefer to minimize my travel time.
Contrary to implication, I prefer to experience the "old Baja" ( at least as much as it still exists) by staying in relatively remote areas.
Hopefully having clarified myself, I would appreciate any recommendations. Thank you.

I SUSPECT Osprey was being facetious, Ron, on the other hand .... was just being dense.
That all being said and done, if you are looking for a Casita, closer to the border, on the Cortez side, here are the areas I would check, ordered by
increasing distance (from said border :lol .
San Felipe, Bahia de Los Angeles, Mulege, Loreto, La Paz

Don't forget Puertocitos, Gonzaga and Punta Final. All great places to visit.

Yes, but finding a casita in those location could be difficult or impossible.

Well, here is a nice casita with a great view between Puertocitos and Gonzaga....always available it seems, air conditioning and no noisy neighbours
for miles....

Try Raquel and Larrys in Bahia de Los Angeles - there are 2 houses to rent and do not allow camping - also hotel rooms - easy to launch from their
beach and pretty quiet this time of year. good luck -
