La Paz hotel suggestions?

A co-worker has asked me for info for her husband. He and a buddy are flying in to Cabo the 1st week of Nov. and driving up to Puerto San Carlos to meet friends who are cruising their fishing boat down from San Diego.

They were going to try and make it to San Carlos the same day they arrive, but I suggested they stay a night in La Paz.

Any suggestions for a modest hotel for a night in La Paz? They are unfamiliar with the city so possibly something on the outskirts so they don't have to go all the way in to town.

Gracias
