I read somewhere that there were 300,000 displaced people.
This seems like a good situation for our help. I will check with the Red Cross here to see if they are taking donations. Calderon has said that this
is one of the worst disasters ever in Mexico.

I could be wrong....but I think that the dog is saving the man. If you look in the background there is a Marina and another guy with a yellow rope
trying to save something/one. The dog has the same rope around him.

Funny how people can get all concerned about a flood on the mainland, wondering about getting Red Cross help with flood victims.
When right here in Baja Norte, the fires are out and everyone forgets because its not on the front page any longer. 
No Red Cross help or any location for anyone else to assist???

Not to disregard anyones suffering or need; but, for those of you confused about the magnitude of the flooding in Tabasco... Imagine ALL of Ensenada
and 1/2 of TJ burning to the ground and then making it nearly impossible to find anywhere safe in all of Baja Norte to go. I'm really not trying to
compare apples and oranges, I'm just pointing out apples are apples and oranges are oranges.
The flooding presently occurring is truly sad and it is an enormous problem. I have read that upwards of 80% of the state of Tabasco is underwater
and that over one million people in Tabasco are effected by flooding. Many people will be affected for quite some time to come.
Tabasco is very low lying area with many wetlands; much, like the gulf coast here in the USA. The state Chiapas, much of which drains to Tabasco, is
also experiencing major flooding.

I agree the people in Tabasco are having a BIG problen.
My point was almost 2 weeks has past since the fires in Baja Norte and no attempt that I have been able to locate has been made to help out those fire
victims that lost homes and everything else they had.
I think we should work in our own back yard before running off the the neighbors yard???

I asked my wife who was saving who. Her comment "the dog was saving the man". When I asked how she knew she said, "Dogs can swim, Mexicans can't".

It looks to me like the man is saving the dog. If you look at the water level across the street, and the rescue guy with "Marina" across his back,
they are still able to wade with their heads above water. Also, the yellow rope is attached to the dog. Yes, dogs can swim, but with no purpose other
than to stay afloat and get to someplace where they can get out of the water. This guy is leading the dog to safety....or at least, trying to. Hope
they made it.

Judgeing from the iron scroll work on the fence and the height of the electric meters, I guess the water to be about three feet deep. I don't
think the man needed to be saved, I think the dog is in search of some high ground.

Well now, the roadway might be much lower than the sidewalk. And the yellow rope by the wall sure doesn't look like it's headed toward the dog.

If the dog (looks like a Chocolate Lab) is like my Yellow Lab, the toe nails would be sharp...and if she was swimming those feet would be spinning at
a high RPM......if you were anywhere near her feet you would get scratched....bad.
Also, the dog does not have a happy look on it's face. Either wants to get away from the guy or find a dry spot.

Looks like his arm is wrapped around the dog. I didn't say he was saving the dog or that the dog needed to be saved. I don't think either one of
them needed to be saved.
Not sure what the guy with the yellow rope is doing. There are two yellow ropes in this picture.
